Our Story
RelicHome was founded in 2014 in the Metaxourgio neighbourhood of Athens by Eleftheria Kontou, a former conservation graduate of the National Technical University, and her partner Andreas Petrakis, a third-generation cabinetmaker from Volos. The two met while restoring the chairs of a Kolonaki tea room and discovered that nobody in Athens was selling honest, provenance-traced antiques outside of a handful of intimidating dealers on Pandrossou Street. They opened their first 90 sqm workshop-storefront on Leonidou Street in 2014 with eleven pieces, a borrowed van, and a promise to themselves: every object would be documented, dated, and described as truthfully as a museum label.
